Black Friday in Wenatchee.
This place is like a box of LEGO bricks strewn across a pile of thick winter blankets and looks especially magical in the low-hanging morning sun.
As I was going through the photos I’d taken over Thanksgiving weekend, Christine said that I should tell you all about how difficult I had been while she was trying to come up with a plan for where to spend the break. I’d nixed three other choices as being 1) too far or 2) not worth the effort and 3) (allegedly) grumbled about the point of life itself before finally being useful and agreeing to checking out Wenatchee and Leavenworth. She said this because I had a good time and she wanted me to make sure I wrote: “and that’s why I should always listen to my wife.” There. I did it. I state my regret (Dwight Schrute voice).
More shots from our Black Friday morning stroll around Wenatchee.
I overheard a group sitting behind us at the Bavarian-style beer hall wondering if Leavenworth would have felt any different if they hadn’t already been to Germany, since “it feels just like being in Germany.” Well, the closest I’ve gotten to Deutschland is growling along to Rammstein, so I wouldn’t know how to compare. Does it feel just like Germany? Or does it feel like every German Christmas Market in any city in the world?
We popped in here to warm our bones with a seasonal chai and it turned into an impromptu photoshoot like I’m the Chelan County tourist board or something.
A winter wonderland sequence.
