#Route101: PDX-SF-Eureka

Dearest, I am writing to you from #EurekaCA after Christine heroically drove us through here, from Seattle to San Francisco, and back again, on #Route101. It has been a doozy.

I’ll have more to say about it all in subsequent missives to you, good friend, but in the meantime, here are some unedited, straight out of the camera digital shots I took along the way on our first time down the coast, using that #HolgaLens I’m loving so much.

Oo yeah, Californi-yay.

One of the more memorable stops along the way was Shelter Cove. We knew it had a brewery that claimed to be “CALIFORNIA’S MOST REMOTE,” but we didn’t quite expect how rough a drive it would be, how cut off this town was (no signal and no wi-fi “because of the storm”), or just how much weather this part of the North Pacific coast could pack into a single hour. It was quite literally breathtaking. Here’s a sampling of all that weather as seen through my digital #HolgaLens, raw and unedited.

Keeping with the digital theme, here’s a random assortment of SF scenes from my phone; I shot almost a whole roll of film here too.

A massive and heartfelt thank you to @fantastikplastic for your advice! Your super condensed itinerary was so curatorial & clever. As soon as I walked down Mission and Valencia, I immediately saw how your mind was operating. That‘s talent!
