It’s official! The summer of 2026 is #JimothySummer! I have never felt prouder of my city.
Thank you @councilmember.amr 🥁 and thank you Jimothy! I even teared up a little during this love fest.

“For peace comes dropping slow…”
I was planning a follow-up video with more of the artists after yesterday’s lovely proclamation of #JimothySummer by @councilmember.amr, and before the tragic news from the Seattle Center that we all heard about later that evening. I was so disturbed by the juxtaposition of all that joy and affection we experienced with the violence and selfishness that was to come, and this morning, I decided that a thin thread connects these two phenomena. It’s a thread we heard in a somber poem read aloud and a poignant dedication of an artwork called Fighting the Odds to the people of Seattle. I included both in full in this video.
So here it is, some novocaine for the soul.
