With All That’s Going On in the World (More Camera Comparisons)

“With all that’s going on in the world.” I was thinking about this turn of phrase, with all that’s going on in the world, and all that’s going on in my part of the world in particular. So I did what I often do when a thought gets lodged inside my brain: I looked it up.

I know that in this house we love to hate it, but I liked how off-putting yet accurate it sounded, so here is what Google’s AI overview had to say:

With all that’s going on in the world, I have no comforting content. Reject negativity? Not sure about that either. But I do relate to that common desire to “escape” the “madness,” a form of mental illness in itself, of course. There’s no escaping this madness. But there is grace in the eye of the storm. The question remains: what is to be done?

I’m not sure if the slight difference in color rendering between these cameras is even noticeable at this size, and though I tried to keep them at similar apertures, I’m not sure if the exposure is consistent either, but this wasn’t a controlled experiment, just a bit of fun—so enjoy.

One reason CCD sensors went away is because they’re energy intensive, draining their batteries ridiculously quickly. So here’s an assortment of standalone SX260 HS shots I took after the A710 IS died (plus one stray from the latter—can you tell which?)
